  19. Numerous.    There is a good variety of accommodation - mainly small guest houses - throughout the village of Las Terrenas and just across from the very long beach. Amenities are basic but then the prices are too - so it all works out.

  22. Horseback riding - available on the beach.

  24. ACCESS TO BEACH:
  25. This is a true 'beach community' and access to the sand is everywhere. NB: The beach parallels the main road just east of the village.

  28. A narrow palm lined beach that seems to go on and on forever.

  31. Las Terrenas is more a state of mind than actual beach destination; a wonderful place for the independent traveler. Just relax and become part of the DR scenery.The only all-inclusive resort is a few miles away in El Portillo, the northern coast of the Samana peninsula. The airport at El Portillo handles small planes on its dirt runway, daily flights and mail runs from Santo Domingo. Otherwise, use the Puerto Plata Airport, a three hour drive away.
